Thursday 16th October - bike ** – Two rivers, Deben to the Orwell – cloudy with rain.

As the gloom continues I stayed in bed while Mag did her early morning walk, I did take the rolls out of the freezer for another picnic but the weather was uninspiring so we decided against it, we have Maeva tomorrow so will head out somewhere. So after lunch I home I decided to give my new to me Boardman mountain bike a trial run, as I haven’t fitted the electric front wheel yet it would mean manual peddling like the old days:) I left home about 2.30 and headed straight down to the seafront at the end of our road with so light drizzle starting, the bike rides really well with great brakes and top gear changing, this was a really expensive bike when new, probably the best bike I have had! I continue along the prom to The Fludyers spotting the Dutch Tall Ship, the Artemis moored off the coast, several are already up at Ipswich, quite a sight I think! Up Maybush Road, through the beach huts on the cliff top and down the windy path onto the prom that leads to Felixstowe Ferry where the fishmonger had just fed the gulls on the jetty! Then back along the road ending up at the dock view point completing the two rivers bike ride. Back through Landguard Nature Reserve and back onto the prom at The Manor into a head wind, it briefly picked up to 15 knots, a head wind too and it started to rain, not pleasant at all and I was pleased to get home for a cuppa and cake with Mag making me a hot water bottle, she is a star:)

PS - this is the first time I have been on a bike since 22nd June!
